We had the pleasure of sitting down with Micheale, a valued member of the Global Brands Liquor team, to discover her incredible journey and the invaluable contributions she has made to the company. With over 32 years of experience in the industry, Micheale's expertise and dedication have left an indelible mark on her colleagues and the business as a whole.

Micheale embarked on her GBL adventure on August 20th, 2013, taking on the role of Stock Control/Customer Service Manager. Back then, the company was still in its nascent stage, with only a handful of employees. Micheale's fresh perspective and unparalleled customer service skills quickly made her an integral part of the growing team.

Before joining GBL, Micheale spent an impressive 32 years at Campbells Cash and Carry as a Liquor Manager. Her extensive experience in the industry provides a strong foundation for her success at GBL. Additionally, she gained valuable insights during her one-year tenure at Red Funnel, where she honed her skills in customer service and accounts payable.

Throughout her illustrious career, Micheale has learned some pivotal lessons that have shaped her professional journey. Above all, she emphasizes the importance of honesty, patience, and treating everyone with kindness. These qualities not only enhance her work relationships but also contribute to a harmonious and productive work environment.

When asked about her hobbies, Micheale's eyes light up with excitement as she shares her deep love for hot rods and classic cars. For an astonishing 40 years, she has been building and driving these magnificent vehicles, showcasing her passion for speed and timeless craftsmanship.

Micheale's passion extends beyond the automotive world. She actively supports and participates in scouting activities with children, leaving a lasting impact on their lives. Her involvement in scouting over the years has allowed her to contribute to the growth and development of young individuals, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie.

Since joining the team, Micheale's role has evolved only slightly, initially serving as a Purchasing Customer Service Manager, she quickly demonstrated her expertise and leadership skills, subsequently assuming the position of Purchasing Manager for the past 9.5 years. Through her dedication and commitment, Micheale has become an invaluable asset to the team, continuously driving success and growth.

When reflecting on the most important lesson she has learned from working with the team, Micheale highlights the significance of unity and support. By being a true team player and lending a helping hand, she believes that together, they can overcome any challenge and achieve great things.

As Micheale fondly recalls her favourite memory at GBL, she takes us back to the early days in the old warehouse. Despite the freezing temperatures, the small office became a cozy sanctuary where colleagues huddled together for warmth. It was during these moments, surrounded by laughter and camaraderie, that lifelong friendships were forged, reminding us of the humble beginnings and shared journey that brought GBL to where it is today.

As Micheale contemplates the future, her face lights up with excitement. She speaks of her early retirement, embarking on new adventures, and embracing her passion for travel and caravanning. With plans to build a 1934 Tudor hot rod, she eagerly anticipates the fulfillment of a lifelong dream.

She is known for her warmth and nurturing spirit, always taking new employees under her wing, and imparting her wisdom.
